Tournament Fund Raisers

The Sprayberry Wrestling Booster Club is hosting a couple of tournaments at Sprayberry. These tournaments help offset the cost of wrestling for all programs and provides the funds to maintain our wrestling room. This is a great opportunity for you to meet other parents, and some of the fine students of the program.
Junior Wrestlers that do not qualify to enter the tournament need to signup as Boppers. Junior parents can signup for anything they wish. All tasks are easy to preform (only Score Keepers need experience). We will instruct you onsite.
Please visit both events and sign up for an open slot. The opportunities are as follows:
Sprayberry Beginners Tournament – Sunday January 13th. This tournament will host 350 Junior wrestlers from around the state that are first or second year wrestlers.
Cobb County Invitational – Fri and Sat January 18th and 19th. This tournament will host High School Varsity Wrestlers from all of the Cobb County Schools (about 17). You will experience some fantastic wrestling at this event. A great opportunity for your young wrestler to see this sport at full speed.

Creekview Tournys (Dec 15 & 16)

This weekend we will be going to Creekview HS for both the Saturday Open Tournament and Sunday Beginners Tournament.
Registration deadline is Thursday at 10PM, but we recommend that you not wait that long as many tournaments fill up. Use the “Register for Tournaments” link to the right to access the registration system.

Kell Tournaments (Dec 8 & 9)

We will be going to Kell High School for our tournaments this weekend. The Open Tournament will be held on Saturday and the Beginners Tournament will be held on Sunday.

Wrestling Kick-off Banquet & Meeting
Wednesday November 14th
6:30 in Sprayberry Commons
Mandatory for All( High school and Jr Jackets). If you play a fall sport and can not attend please have one parent come. We will go over a lot of important information about the season. We will need registration forms and dues turned in at this time.
We will have registration from 6:30-7pm.
Spirit wear needs to be ordered at this time.(Watch for a spirit wear order form to be emailed before the banquet)
The meeting and eating will begin promptly at 7.
This is a pot luck!! Please bring one(or two) of your family favorites or pick something up.

We would like to welcome Coach PJ

We would like to welcome Coach PJ Novak to our program. Coach PJ is a SHS alumni wrestler. He has been an assistant with the Kell Jr Longhorn wrestling program for many years. Take a minute to introduce yourselves and welcome him home.
Coach PJ will be filling the shoes of long time coach Scott Vanner. Scott graduated KSU in January and we wish him the best of luck on his future endeavors.
Let’s all work to make PJ feel at home.
Season starts November 5th

Practice will officially begin Monday November 5th.
Practice will start promptly at 6:30 pm. Have your laces tied and ready to start a new season. Practice days will be Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays from 6:30-8 pm in the wrestling room.
Bring a friend and introduce them to the ‘Oldest Sport in the World’ for a 2 week trial. Let them see what and why we love this Great Sport.
